Welcome to Luna! Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Luna (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

a. Personal Information You Provide

Account Information
: Name, email address, phone number, pet information (e.g., name, age, breed, weight).

Payment Information: We collect billing details (processed securely by third-party providers like Stripe and Revenue Cat).

Veterinary Session Data: If you use live vet consultations (e.g., via video or chat), the content of those sessions may be recorded or transcribed.

Location Data: With your permission, Luna collects your device's location data solely to find emergency veterinary hospitals and clinics near you. Location data is processed on-device and through mapping services to display nearby facilities. Your location data is not shared with Anthropic, TeleTails, or any other  third party. You may disable location access at any time through your device settings.

b. Automatically Collected Information

Device Data
: IP address, device type, OS, app version.

Usage Data: Time spent in the app, feature interactions, crash logs, diagnostics.

AI Interactions: Questions asked to our AI and responses generated.

c. Third-Party Integrations: If you connect Luna to third-party vet services through the app, we may receive or share relevant information necessary to provide care.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to: Provide and improve our AI pet care services

Offer personalized health advice based on your pet’s profile

Facilitate video or chat consultations with licensed veterinarians

Process payments and manage subscriptions

Monitor usage for analytics and performance

Send updates, confirmations, and occasional pet wellness tips (you can opt out anytime)

Third-Party Data Processing                                                                                                                                                                                                                   
Luna shares personal data with the following third-party service providers to  deliver core app functionality. Each provider is contractually required to  provide the same or equivalent level of data protection as described in this  policy.

Anthropic (AI Chat Service)  

When you use Luna Chat, the following data is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI  service to generate personalized pet health guidance:  

- Pet profile information: name, breed, age, weight, gender, medications, and health conditions  
- Chat messages: your questions and full conversation history within each chat session
- Photos: any images you choose to share for health assessments

Anthropic processes this data solely to generate responses within Luna Chat.  Anthropic does not use your data to train their AI models. For more  information, see Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

TeleTails (Veterinary Telehealth Service)  

When you connect with a licensed veterinary professional through Vet Pro, the following data is sent to TeleTails to facilitate your telehealth session:  

- Your first name, last name, and email address  
- Pet information: name, age, breed, weight, gender, and spay/neuter status

TeleTails processes this data solely to provide veterinary telehealth services within the app.

You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at contact@trylunapets.com, though this will limit your ability to use Luna.

3. How We Share Your Information

We only share your information when necessary:

Service Providers: Such as payment processors, hosting platforms, and vet networks (e.g., Teletails and Anthropic).

Veterinarians: To provide accurate care during live sessions.

Legal Obligations: If required by law or to protect Luna and its users.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Your ChoicesAccess & Update: You can view and update your account and pet info at any time.

Delete Your Account: You can request deletion of your account and data.

Opt-Out: You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link.

5. Data Security
We implement safeguards to protect your data, including encryption, secure cloud storage, and limited access by staff. However, no system is 100% secure.

6. Children’s Privacy
Luna is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent.

7. International Users
Luna is currently only available in the United States. If you’re accessing Luna from outside the U.S., you acknowledge your data may be transferred and processed in the U.S.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you via the app or email.
